PARENT ORIENTATIONS

On Monday, August 7 we will be hosting a Pre-K Parent Orientation at6:30pm. Please plan to attend our 1 hour meeting and get all of your questions answered about your little one attending our Pre-K program. Don’t forget to bring your paperwork!

On Tuesday, August 8, at 6:30pm we will be hosting an Orientation for Parents of those students entering Kindergarten-5th grade. Don’t forget to bring your paperwork!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Meet & Greet Cookout – Please plan to attend our opening cookout on Friday night, August 11 at 7:00pm, rain or shine. Students will have the opportunity to meet their teacher and visit their classroom. All students, teachers, and parents are invited to attend.

Fee Payment – Please come to Orientation prepared to pay fees. Your child will not be allowed to start the first day of school without fees paid.

First Day of School- Our official first day of school will be Monday, August 14 for all students in grades K-5th and any Pre-K students who are scheduled to attend on Mondays. Doors will open at 7:00am and we will begin class promptly at 7:50am.

Business Owners – If you have a student enrolled at St. Mark Catholic School for the 2017-2018 school year, we would like to show our support by placing an ad for your business in our Principal’s Post. There is no cost to you, but we will need a copy of your logo and your website address so that we can link your business to our page. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

School Pictures – Please mark Friday, September 8 on your calendar for school pictures. All students who do not regularly attend on Fridays are asked to arrive by 9:00am so that a full school picture can be taken. This will be followed by a class picture and individuals.

During our Gala & $12K Raffle, we offer both silent and live auction items. We need help from every school and parish family to gather items to auction. Consider hosting a pool party where guests bring new, unopened games to go into a family fun basket. Host a dinner party and ask each guest to bring one bottle of wine that could all be put together in a wine basket. Get creative! Host a pet get together and have each guest bring an item that could go into a pet basket.

Remind 101 – Please register for this if you wish to receive text reminders and updates. 1)
Go to your text messaging. 2) Where you would usually enter a phone number, type
in 81010. 3) Where you would usually type a message, put in @stmarkca. 4) Wait 1-2
minutes and you will receive a text that lets you know that you have been registered.

Inclement Weather:
If school needs to be cancelled due to snow or other reason, I will send out a text via
REMIND 101 as early as possible. I try to make a decision the evening before or by 5:30am
that morning so that families have some time to plan. After a text via REMIND 101, I will
then post on the 4 major news channels: WLEX, WKYT, WTVQ, and FOX. You must look for
ST. MARK CATHOLIC SCHOOL. We do NOT follow Madison County or Model Laboratory.
